The key to a successful social media presence is to have a well defined strategy. Working with our Social Media Strategist we took a close look at our audience to determine who was using which platform and what were they expecting to see from us. By knowing our audience we developed a feed for each social platform that spoke to what that audience was seeking*. Younger followers on Instagram are interested in imagery of the Power-Pole lifestyle and are eager to participate in sweepstakes and giveaways while the older audience is loyal to Facebook and looking for more Pro Angler, tournament and new product information which also allowed us to increase our engagement through Facebook Live feeds from industry trade shows such as ICAST. With this communication strategy we have been able to train our audience to know which platform to go to for the kind of content they’re seeking. The results have been fantastic with a 1000% increase in followers on Instagram over four years and significant gains in Facebook followers as well.

*Research showed our audience to be less active on Twitter and not responsive to Snapchat or other newer platforms.
